U15LL Take Gold in Cambridge!
Our Ayr Rockets U15 LL team played in the Cambridge Roadrunners 27th Annual Girls’ Hockey Tournament January 20th-22nd, 2023.
On the first day of the tournament the Ayr Rockets dominated their games against Mississauga and Cambridge, winning 4-0 and 8-1. On the second day, the Rockets played hard but lost their game to the Kingston Ice Wolves 2-1 but still earned a place in the semi-finals. In a nail-biter of a game, the team defeated their tough opponents, the Guelph Gryphons 2-1, which sent them to the finals.
In the championship game the Rockets wanted redemption against the strong Kingston Ice Wolves, and the Rockets showed up to play! They put away a goal each period while shutting down all of Kingston’s attempts. The Rockets were victorious, earning the gold with a 3-0 win.
This Ayr Rockets U15LL team has a lot of heart, hustle and fully deserved the gold at this tournament! Congratulations to all the players.
